Many people suffer from thyroid conditions and problems with their adrenal glands. You or someone you know may have hypothyroidism, which means a low level of thyroid hormone is present. This condition can cause a wide range of symptoms including but not limited to anxiety, weight gain, sore joints and muscles, headaches, fluid retention, fatigue, low sexual desire, a swollen neck, high cholesterol and more. As you see, these symptoms are not fun. Hormone replacement therapy can work well to alleviate these symptoms.
Your adrenal glands secrete several hormones that affect your entire body. These are important hormones that give you health and vitality. This includes sex hormones. Due to aging, busy and stressful lifestyles, and due to other illnesses we experience, the adrenal hormones can become depleted and do not provide us with the benefits that they once did. This condition is known as adrenal fatigue. Symptoms of adrenal fatigue include anxiety and lack of sleep. There are also other adrenal gland disorders. Our outstanding medical team can utilize hormone therapy to resolve these conditions.
The thyroid gland secretes T4 (thyroxine) and T3 (triiodothyronine). A common form of treatment for hypothyroidism is to treat someone with levothyroxine, a synthetic form of T4. But it does not work for all patients, some continue to have symptoms. The fact is, T3 is also needed. But it has only been available in a synthetic form that is rapidly released and absorbed, and so can lead to higher levels of T-3 in the body then normal, and this can cause serious side effects like heart palpitations.
At Total Health & Rejuvenation of Buckhead Atlanta, we do a simple blood draw to determine your exact deficiencies. The bottom line is that your body is not making enough thyroid hormone for your needs and so thyroid hormone replacement is necessary. We attempt to replicate normal thyroid levels to the extent possible. This means that we monitor your progress and health to ensure that you are not receiving too much or too little thyroid hormone.
With adrenal conditions, we supplement the inadequate adrenal hormone levels, either thru herbal remedies or bioidentical cortisol replacement. We always discuss our processes with every client and answer all of your questions. Please note that hormone therapy for thyroid and adrenal issues are primarily given by oral supplements.
Note that any hormone therapy for adrenal and thyroid conditions would begin with hormone testing, which we arrange for you. We test primarily thru saliva or blood. All doctors here at our facility are well-versed in multiple forms of thyroid and adrenal testing and replacement. Specific supplements and treatments support and repair the endocrine system, and we are highly knowledgeable in this area.

Worst of all, don't tell my husband the no libido wasn't the worst, I couldn't lose weight to save my life. After hearing about BodyLogicMD, I decided that something needed...Read More

Then I found BodyLogicMD of Atlanta and Dr. Karen Weldon. At my first appointment, the office staff was great, and Dr. Weldon was very thorough in reviewing my lab results. During the course of my treatment, Dr. Weldon has been very quick in responding to all my questions via email which is very convenient. I can write to her when an issue is happening and...Read More
